Twenty-First Century Government: Expanding Broadband Access and Usage in California

Broadband Best Practices Summit

TechNet and the California Business, Transportation and Housing Agency (BTH) presented the Broadband Best Practices Summit on June 29, 2007. Sponsored by Cisco, M2Z Networks, and Juniper Networks, this event attracted over 160 participants from California's public, private, and non-profit sectors. Speakers and panelists included Secretary of State Debra Bowen, the National Telecommunications and Infrastructure Administration at the U.S. Department of Commerce and representatives from governments and programs in Arizona, Georgia, Illinois, Kentucky, Ohio, North Carolina, the City of Seattle, Silicon Valley, Utah, Tennessee, and Virginia. Speakers discussed current trends as well as state and regional programs designed to increase broadband access and adoption.
